Maine Needs began by digging into the needs of families in Greater Portland, but we didn’t want to stop there! We have now established “Better Together”, a collection of 16 facebook groups representing all 16 counties in Maine. These groups will act as bridges connecting those who need specific items with folks who have those items to donate, and vice versa. People will be able to freely post what they need or what they have to give within their own community.

We aim to develop each of the 16 pages to act as an ongoing list and active reminder of resources and locations to donate. However, we need your help to fill the voids. To start, join the appropriate facebook group from the list below. Next, call the nonprofits in your area, call the schools, call the churches, call the food pantries to find out what is needed, when it’s needed and how to rally your community to fill those voids. All really is possible, you just need to take a bit of time, ask the questions, and make the connections. Will you help us?
